Credit Score Calculator & Simulator
Estimate your score from the five FICO factors, then model "before vs. after" changes.
A credit score calculator estimates where your score falls using the same five weighted factors FICO publishes: payment history, amounts owed, length of credit history, new credit, and credit mix. This tool computes a 300–850 estimate from those factors, then lets you flip on Compare mode to simulate how a specific change — paying down a balance, missing a payment, or opening a new account — would shift your score.
How The Score Estimate Is Calculated
Each factor is converted to a 0-100 sub-score, then blended using FICO's published weights. The blended 0-100 composite is mapped onto the standard 300-850 score range.
Weighted Composite
.35×Payment + .30×Owed + .15×History + .10×New + .10×Mix
Score Mapping
300 + (Composite ÷ 100) × 550
| Score Range | Tier |
|---|---|
| 300–579 | Poor |
| 580–669 | Fair |
| 670–739 | Good |
| 740–799 | Very Good |
| 800–850 | Exceptional |
Example: 96% on-time payments, 32% utilization, 6-year average account age, 2 recent inquiries, and a moderate credit mix produces an estimate in the high-600s (Good). Dropping utilization to 9% and letting the two inquiries age out pushes the same profile into the low-700s (Very Good) — model it yourself in Compare mode below.
⚠️ Expert Pro-Tip
Use Compare mode to isolate one variable at a time. Set "Current Profile" to your real numbers, then change only utilization (or only inquiries) in "After Changes." Because payment history carries 35% of the weight and utilization 30%, those two levers move the estimate far more than opening a new account or diversifying your credit mix — focus your effort there first.
